U.S. Jobless Rate May Soon Top Europe's

Maybe it was all the deregulation and tax cuts for the rich--that were supposed to increase revenues.

Mancow Waterboarded (VIDEO): Conservative Radio Host Say It's Torture

It's amazing the GOP has been able to distract everyone with such a ridiculous national semantical debate. Hold those responsible accountable. The best we can do is restore our integrity.

The "Personal Responsibility" Canard

"Personal responsibility" is obviously a red herring designed to abrogate actual responsibility. There's nothing inadequate with the term responsibility. The only reason people modify it by adding "personal" is to abrogate responsibility, since responsibility is inherently social.

This is primarily a tactic used by rightwingers in waging class warfare against the poor; it's another way to blame the victim.

Senate Rejects Limit On Credit-Card Interest Rates

Anyone have any doubts left as to how important gouging working people is to their profits?

The oil companies got away with record gas prices/profits with a bunch of distractors thrown out to everyone to hide it; this one doesn't surprise me at this point.

White House Correspondents Dinner: Wanda Sykes Knocks Limbaugh, Hannity

Hey, I was just laughing at shella2177's attempt. I think that one was pathetic back in the '80's.

Hey shella2177 go live in your free-market paradise, Somalia. Take your capitalist heroine Paris Hilton with you, and see how well you two do together.

Family Research Council Slams New GOP Initiative

The only thing they can do to survive involves shifts to the left. It's gong to be gut-wrenching for them, like an exorcism.

Family Research Council Slams New GOP Initiative

"Family Research Council"? It wouldn't take a whole lot of research to figure out the GOP just uses Christians to advance their only agenda--which is to transfer wealth from working people and their families to the superrich by any means they can get away with. They just want your votes, and that's it. Wake up. Wefare-for-the-rich is not a family value, nor is it Biblically advocated.

Nearly 30% Of Homeowners Owe More On Mortgage Than Their Homes Are Worth

If they voted Republican, you're right--they dug it for all of us. Otherwise a more stable economy that rewarded work over wealth, instead of constantly devising new ways to transfer ever greater ratios of wealth from working people to the wealthy, might've gotten most people through.

Specter Won't Back Public Health Care Or Employee Free Choice Act (VIDEO)

Won't support the Employee Free Choice Act Arlen Specter? All workers would reap the benefits from stronger unions, and it would restore balance and efficiency to our economy, especially for the people doing the work. Nice to know you're still a rightwing welfare-for-the-rich-on-the-backs-of-working-people-and-their-families ideologue at heart. Not that anyone taking that position would have one, it's just a figure of speech.

"I'm still against that bill," he said. "Democrats are all for it. Republicans are all against it. I'm the critical vote. If I see that there are other issues where I feel a matter of conscience, I will continue a filibuster against legislation."

It's incredibly depraved to use the term "conscience" in that context. You're just flaunting your lack of one. You should've stayed a Republican since you're dead set on continuing to promote their disastrous ideology, Arlen Specter. We will do everything we can to prevent your re-election and elect a real democrat who represents the interests of the people who go to work every day. Yes we can.

GOP Begins Laying Out Campaign Against Obama's Court Pick

I'm sure the GOP's biggest fear is some kind of "socialist" who wouldn't want to continue the transfer of wealth from working people and their families to the rich.

Bob Barr: GOP In 'Very Deep Trouble'

They should be. Their ideology is an obvious disaster in theory, and now unfortunately in practice. They used Christians to advance their welfare-for-the-rich agenda for decades but now a critical mass is wise to it. Where can they go? A lot o them are like cornered, hissing cats at this point.
